Documentary

This 5-year documentary takes place in Labuan Bajo, a small town off the west coast of the island of Flores, close to the Komodo National Park in Indonesia. Situated at the centre of the coral triangle, the epicentre of marine biodiversity, this region is home to 76% of the world's coral species and 2,228 species of reef fish.

The fish market, a mythical stopover where everything happens very quickly. The fishermen are busy selling their wares before resting after a long night's fishing.

In the space of a few dozen minutes, the fishermen arrive, unload and sell. This precious fish is essential to life here and is virtually the only source of protein for coastal populations.

What would happen if fish resources were to disappear? Where would these populations, so dependent on the marine environment, go?
