Intimate
-
Art & Science

At dusk, on a full moon evening, all I could see was a vast expanse of water, serene and silent. There I was, in the dark, sharing a magical moment of intimacy, with only the living creatures of the coral reef to guide me, sublimating this unrealistic spectacle.

Since 2011, I've been practising fluorescence photography and I remain fascinated by each immersive experience that comes my way. Corals fuel my perpetual quest for new shapes and colours.

Did you know that UV light absorbed by certain living things is re-emitted at different wavelengths? Leaving a spectrum of sparkling colours. A true phenomenon of underwater life, we don't really know the value of fluorescence and the role it plays in evolution. This is one of the reasons why it is so fascinating.
